Industial Site
Founded in 1996, Goupil has been based in the town of Bourran since 2010. All our vehicles are developed and manufactured on our 28,000 m² site. From prototyping to final inspection, every stage of production is represented on-site: mechanical welding, shot blasting, painting, and assembly.
More than 3,000 vehicles (G2, G4, G6, and soon G4+) are produced each year.
Committed to sustainable operations, we are equipped with the first hybrid oven (gas and electric) dedicated to powder coating. In addition, all our buildings are covered with photovoltaic panels, enabling self-consumption of over 1,400,000 kWh/year.
Design Office
The design office is made up of 20 engineers working on improving the current product range and developing future models.
It is structured into three divisions:
-
Electronics: electrical architecture, ECU management, and OTA connectivity
-
Mechanical: chassis and suspension, active and passive safety, durability studies
-
Homologation & Innovation: regulatory developments, technology watch, and proof of concept
In addition, a large prototyping area and a dedicated space for developing special equipment support their activities.
Assembly Line
With a capacity of up to 5,000 units per year, production is carried out on three distinct lines: G2, G4 (including the G4+ version), and G6.
All chassis on the line are customer vehicles. Configurations are defined at order placement. Customers can choose their battery capacity, cabin options, and, most importantly, the complete rear equipment — including any specific developments.
Although most operations are manual, the lines have been designed with safety in mind. Special attention has been given to the movements and postures of our assembly operators, with ergonomic studies and noise exposure assessments performed by occupational health services.
Equipment and Quality Control
Goupil manufactures in-house all the equipment installed at the rear of the chassis. More than 30 standard variants are available: flatbeds, tippers, vans, refrigerated boxes, mixed configurations, as well as high-pressure and watering options.
The flexibility of this unit also makes it possible to integrate special equipment developed in collaboration with customers: fitted vans, dual-flow tippers, handling arms, and more.
At the end of the line, all vehicles are bench-tested and undergo rigorous quality inspection.
Welding and Powder Coating Unit
Since 2022, Goupil has integrated an in-house welding and powder coating unit for doors and cabins.
-
6 MIG Pulse welding stations
-
3 positioners for cabin assembly and welding
-
1 welding robot dedicated to assembling doors and cabin side panels
-
Powder coating line with a recovery system for unused powder
-
1 hybrid oven (the first installed in France) — gas start-up with temperature maintained by electrical power, partly supplied by our solar energy production.
